In July 2023, I was given the opportunity to document the beautiful town of Wyndham, Western Australia, and its annual Munumburra festival. Through both photography and video, I captured the festival’s cultural celebrations and the town’s vibrant community, rich Indigenous heritage, and stunning landscapes. Working alongside Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation, I explored the impactful role they play in supporting Wyndham’s residents and fostering a deep connection to both the past and present.This journey allowed me to immerse myself in the heart of Wyndham, capturing its unique blend of history, culture, and community spirit. With a significant Indigenous population, Wyndham’s residents maintain a strong connection to their local culture and heritage, a connection that I sought to capture and portray throughout this project.
