The vastness of the ocean, with its ever-changing tides, serves as a reflection of human emotion and life’s unpredictability. It highlights the deep-rooted connection we, as humans share with water, emphasising the intertwined nature of our existence. I embarked on this captivating photography project during my final semester at university. Originally inspired by my vivid dreams that blur the lines between reality and imagination, my project evolved into a deep exploration of my connection with water, its calming influence on my life, and the mysteries it conceals beneath its depths.
I showcased this body of work at RMIT University's School of Art Graduate Exhibition on December 6th, 2023. Seeing my work displayed was an incredible experience, but what made it truly special was engaging with those who attended. Listening to their perspectives, answering their questions, and witnessing how my work connected with each person was unforgettable. It deepened my understanding of the powerful bond between artist and audience, adding a new layer of meaning to my art.
